By Tink's Vacation Planner, Kristen. I recently had the opportunity to experience a Disney World Specialty Fireworks Cruise with some co-workers. I have seen the Happily Ever After Fireworks show from various locations in and around the Magic Kingdom but viewing the show from the boat was SPECTACULAR! We were picked up at the Wilderness Lodge an hour prior to the Magic Kingdom Fireworks and cruised around the Seven Seas Lagoon. Our private pontoon boat Captain shared some Disney memories and Disney trivia during the 40 minute tour of the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake before the fireworks started. Each boat is outfitted with snacks, sweet goodies, as well as a cooler with water and soda. We passed several boats that were celebrating birthdays and anniversaries and we were told that Disney will decorate your boat for your own special occasion, included in the price. By Tink's Planner, Missy. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to get married on a Disney Cruise Line vacation? I recently experienced this and I want to tell you all about it! After lots of hopes, dreams, and planning, my fiancee and I decided that we would take our families on a Disney Cruise to watch us get married. After months of wedding planning (getting the dress, deciding on flowers, getting the children all set with passports, making sure everything was all set), it was time to hop on the airplane and leave the cold weather behind. With ten bags plus a wedding dress in tow, we made it through O'Hare and to my favorite place ... Walt Disney World®! This was going to be an amazing wedding with our dreams coming true. By Tink's Planner, Shannon. Are you looking for an exquisite dining experience inside the Walt Disney World® Resort? Look no further then Victoria & Alberts, located inside The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Victoria & Alberts is one of the Walt Disney World® Resort's Signature Dining restaurants and is also a AAA Five Diamond Recipient since 2000. There are three different dining options available: 1. The Dining Room (with just one seating each evening). 2. Queen Victoria’s Room (accommodates just eight guests) 3. Chef’s Table. I spent my evening at the Chefs Table in the heart of the restaurant's kitchen. It was an unforgettable experience as we got to watch our food being prepared while we interacted with the Chef. By Senior Travel Planner Meghan Umlauf This originally ran in the January edition of the Holliston Town Pages Why use a Travel Planner for your next Disney destination vacation, especially when you have planned plenty of very successful vacations on your own in the past? Today I will share with you the top 5 reasons to use Travel Planners who specializes in Disney destinations: 5. They can help you choose the best Disney destination for your family vacation! With 7 different Disney vacation options (Walt Disney World® Resort, Disneyland®Resort, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, Adventures by Disney®, Disney’s Vero Beach® resort, and Disney’s Hilton Head Resort®) there are many ways to satisfy your families vacation needs! By Senior Vacation Planner, Meghan I know what you’re thinking -- why would a vacation need to be forced upon anyone? Well, my husband and I have two children - a 12 -year-old son and a 15-year-old daughter. Any questions? For those of you blessed to not have children this age yet - taking them anywhere at this age without their friends is just shy of the death penalty for this age group, and so we (like many others) must put our foot down when it comes to a family only vacation and force them to have a fun time! Our forced vacation? A five-night Disney Cruise from New York to Bermuda! We booked this when the itinerary was released so everyone had PLENTY of time to adjust to the idea! Historically, booking this far in advance will get you a lowest fair possible for your sailing - in addition you get the largest options of stateroom choices this early in the game as well! Disney Cruise Line’s frequent cruising program is called the Castaway Club, the higher your Castaway Level (based on the number of times you have cruised) determines how early you can book when the new itineraries get released. By Senior Tink's Vacation Planner, Lynn. While planning a recent Walt Disney World family vacation, I wanted to do something different that my family has never done before. My kids have been going to the parks since their first birthdays and I have been going for over 36 years so we have done a lot on our many visits. My family loves zoo animals and my daughter has plans to become a zoologist when she gets older. So I decided to surprise them by booking the Caring For The Giants tour at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park. By Tink's Vacation Planner, Pollyanna. I know Moms aren't supposed to have favorite children, but can travel agents have favorite resorts? I love the resorts at Walt Disney World® for so many reasons. Animal Kingdom Lodge has animals roaming outside your window. Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa is walking distance to Disney Springs. Art of Animation has a create your own pasta! You really can’t go wrong with any Disney resort, but my all time favorite is Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Narrowing down the reasons why I love Disney’s Yacht Club Resort has not been easy but here are my top five: By Tink's Vacation Planner, Pollyanna. I have many Walt Disney World® "Bucket List" items that I still have yet to accomplish; staying at every on property resort, attending Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, and riding every Disney water ride in one day. I am proud to say that I have been able to cross several items off of my Bucket List such as ordering the "kitchen sink" at Beaches and Cream, and visiting the underground utilidoors. A huge item on my Bucket List was experiencing all four Disney World Parks in one day - and guess what, I did it! You are not crazy to wonder if four Walt Disney World Parks in one day is even possible. I am able to tell you that it can be done! My son and I carefully planned out how to make visiting four parks in one day happen. Being that it was summer we had extended park hours to use to our advantage, but we also had the heat and crowds to work around as well. We got up early, ate breakfast at our resort, and went to the bus stop to get our day started. We chose to begin at Epcot since it had extra morning hours for resort guests. We were there for rope drop and went straight to Soarin’ and then Spaceship Earth. The crowds were still light so we could have stayed to enjoy more time at the park, but we knew we had a full day ahead of us. Our next stop took us to Hollywood Studios where we rode Star Tours and The Great Movie Ride (oh, how I miss that ride). We grabbed a quick lunch at Pizza Planet and began our bus ride to Animal Kingdom. By then it was mid-day and we were feeling the Floridian heat in full force. The heat and humidity were not going to slow us down! My son and I entered Animal Kingdom and he rode Expedition Everest as a single rider. (I was not brave enough to ride it!). We were hoping to see a show (like Festival of the Lion King), but our timing did not work out. So instead we both hopped on the ride, Triceratop Spin, before grabbing an ice cream on our way out of the park. Our last park of the day to experience was Magic Kingdom. We had planned our FastPass+ selections here knowing we would be enjoying a popular park at a busy time of the day. Although it was busy, we had a great time in our last park, and went back to our room knowing that we had survived the day and accomplished our goal - and it was fun! Visiting four parks in one day at Walt Disney World is not for the faint of heart; especially in July. This experience is not for vacationers that have limited time or who want to get the most out of every park. I am a frequent visitor so checking this off my Disney Bucket List is a memory I will not soon forget, especially because I accomplished it with my son. Tink's Tip: As Pollyanna suggests, if you want to attempt four parks in one day, definitely have a plan! Grab four park maps (available at your Disney resort, and also at the entrance to each park) and sketch out what rides you hope to hop on. You will need a park hopper ticket to access all four parks. Remember to stay hydrated, especially if you are going in the summer months. You will need to go through security at the entrance to each park. Have fun! By Tink's Vacation Planner, Jennifer G. When you think of Disney, The Grand Canyon probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind, but Adventures by Disney® has destinations to explore all over the world. Some of our Tink’s clients recently chose the Southwest Splendors Adventure. Check out what made “heading west” with Adventures by Disney extra special to them! Our recent Southwest Splendors (Arizona and Utah) Adventure with Adventures by Disney® was amazing! What helped make Disney travel different? The big stuff: EVERY accommodation was in the BEST hotel/motel available in every venue. Getting into some of these places would have required reservations more than a year out, if at all. Sure, you can book yourself, but in our case we would have had to take a room 3-5 miles from the Grand Canyon, outside the Park, Adventures by Disney® had us fifteen yards from the rim of the Canyon! Wake up, walk outside your room for a gorgeous sunrise! As an added bonus, Adventures by Disney® books the finest and most popular of the local “excursions” too! They have done the research for you. An example of the little stuff: our Adventure Guides always had an abundance of ice cold water, cookies, chips, nuts, and healthy snacks on every bus leg of the trip. We saw the bus drivers of the other tours selling water to their travelers, imagine that frustrating nickel and dime routine OR carrying your own waters and snacks everywhere! Lastly, Disney finds ways to involve their travelers into each stop. I don’t want to give away any surprises here, but your Adventure Guides find a way to make your excursions special, instead of simply arriving at a destination and getting out of your car/bus to take pictures. Something as simple as how Disney choses to reveal your site upon arrival helps make an unforgettable memory, and not just another stop along the way! I have to mention too that our tour guides were phenomenal! They were very personable and knowledgeable. Ask a question or make a request and they delivered -- absolutely nothing gets by them. Our Adventures by Disney® vacation was simply brilliant, from start to finish! Expect the best and you won’t be disappointed when you choose Adventures by Disney®. Tink's Tip: Our Tink's vacation planners are here to help you figure out which Adventure vacation is perfectly suited for your family's needs. It is never too early to start planning! It is a big, big world out there, and traveling with Adventures by Disney® offers once-in-a-lifetime experiences! This morning was the day the Guillemette Family dreaded most: departing this magical Land of Italy. After a fun water taxi ride to the airport (really, can you imagine that?), the Guillemettes departed their taxi and followed their escort up into the Venice Terminal. Although the airport was crazy busy, no worries were to be had, as Adventures by Disney® took care of everything. The flight back to the good old U.S. of A. was uneventful. After landing at JFK in the Big Apple, the Guillemette Family clambered into their limo for the ride back home. A huge shout out to their Adventure Guides - Korey and Alexa -- for making this truly an "Adventure" of a lifetime.
Day Four in Tuscany. Today was a busy day on the Guillemette's Italian Adventure. They explored a Tuscan farm, made olive oil, made pasta, enjoyed lots and lots of yummy food, and topped it off with a dinner this evening in a Tuscan castle. Hard to go wrong on a day like this!
Day Three of Tink's Italian Adventure: The Guillemette Family stopped in Orvieto on the way to Tuscany. Check out the lavender bike, churches, scooters, and those beautiful rolling hills. Tonight's schedule includes the Junior Adventurers gathered together for some fun activities while the adults enjoy an outside wine tasting - we see some great looking appetizers on those plates -- yum!. The weather is gorgeous and the scenery takes your breath away. Looks like this family is having a wonderful time in the Tuscan countryside.
Day Two in Rome and the Guillemette Family is on the go! Waking up to a splendid breakfast, then on to tour more sites in this amazing city - their day was filled with all sorts of oohs and aahhs. A highlight today (among so many other things!) was touring the Vatican. Kristin says that it seemed like every place they went there was no waiting in line with Adventures by Disney.® That paddle of power the Adventure Guides hold up is very powerful!
Amazing time at the Coliseum! On this Adventure day, the magic of having a "Paddle of Power" wielded by an Adventure Guide included having access to a private entrance into the Coliseum. Kristin's family was one of the only groups who got to go down into the lower portion of this amazing historical site. Keep following Kristin's amazing journey through Italy!
This is what the welcome packet looks like. It has all sorts of details about what will be happening on the first day of the Guillemette's Italian Adventure! Looks like lots of food to be had on this Italian Adventure!
