Tink's Tutorials

Planning a Disney vacation? Our Tink’s Tutorials are here to guide you through every step, making your trip as smooth and stress-free as possible!

Headed to Walt Disney World® Resort? Start by creating a My Disney Experience account. This essential tool allows you to book park reservations, customize MagicBands, and—starting six months before your trip—secure Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) at your favorite restaurants. Check out our tutorials below for step-by-step instructions!

Setting sail on Disney Cruise Line? If you're sailing with Disney, you’ll need to set up an account at
DisneyCruiseLine.com. Here, you can manage your reservation, pre-book activities (when your window opens), complete online check-in, and explore everything about your upcoming cruise.

Need help? Watch our tutorial video below for a walkthrough of the Disney Cruise Line website!

As always, your Tink's Magical Vacation vacation planner is here to assist you with any questions. Let the magic begin!

Linking your reservation to your account

First things first!  After booking your reservation you will receive a reservation number that can be used to link your reservation information to your account on My Disney Experience!  Watch this Tink's Tutorial to learn how!

Customizing Magic Bands

One of the fun perks when you stay as an on-property guest at the Walt Disney World® Resort is being able to purchase at a discounted price the colorful wristbands called “Magic Bands” these will either arrive in the mail before your vacation begins, or be available for pick up when you check in.

What is a Magic Band?  A Magic Band is an all-in-one device resembling a watch/bracelet, that you touch to a sensor called a touch point.

Your Magic Band connects you to a variety of vacation choices.  You can use it to enter the parks, to connect Disney PhotoPass images to your account, unlock your Disney Resort hotel room, as well as to charge food and  merchandise purchases to your Disney Resort hotel room.  Before your vacation begins, you can choose to  customize special Magic Bands for this trip in  your MyDisneyExperience account.
You can  choose from a variety of different colors and designs for each member of your family or get matching bands for the whole group.  You will then receive them in the mail from the Walt Disney World® Resort a few weeks before your vacation start date or be notified that they will be waiting for you at check in!

Making Advanced Dining Reservations

Video Produced and Written by Tink’s Magical Vacations Planner, Scott.
Guests headed to the Walt Disney World® Resort can start making Advanced Dining Reservations (ADR’s) at most sit down or “Table Service” restaurants starting at 60* days before their vacation start date. You can either reserve by phone (call 407-WDW-DINE and make sure to have your resort reservation number handy for the cast
member) or you can also book online in your MyDisneyExperience account or in the Walt Disney World mobile app.  If you stay on property at a Walt Disney World® Resort, you have a great perk when it comes to booking your Advanced Dining Reservations. Not only can you call 60* days in advance of your vacation, but since you are an on-property guest, you can make advanced dining reservations for up to 10 days of your vacation stay. Guests staying at non-Disney owned resorts may reserve dining for each day of their vacation too — but they have to log in or call in and reserve their ADR’s one day at a time, beginning 60* days out.
*Advance Dining Reservations changed from 180 days prior to 60 days prior when Walt DIsney World reopened during the Covid 19 pandemic - this is subject to change.

Making your Lightning Lane Purchases

In July of 2024 Walt Disney World introduced new, simpler names for the Genie+ system to provide more clarity. Disney Genie+ service has become Lightning Lane Multi Pass, while individual Lightning Lane will now be known as Lightning Lane Single Pass.  These Passes can now be purchased up to 7 days prior to your vacation!

Joining a Virtual Cue

Walt Disney World utilizes virtual cues for select rides at different parks - learn what rides are currently using them and more details below!
