By Mindy, Senior Travel Planner You’re adults traveling on Disney Cruise Line. While you love everything Disney has to offer on the ship as far as world class service, rooms bigger than most other cruise lines and the Disney Characters, you would like to have a quiet day on the Beach without kids running around. Where do you go? Serenity Bay! Castaway Cay’s exclusive adult only beach (ages 18 and older.) If you are either lucky or perhaps have a concierge room, you may be enough to score a cabana. I have been just so lucky 3 times this summer and all on Serenity Bay.
Cabanas on Serenity Bay sit up at the top of the sand bluff from the ocean. Unlike the Cabana’s on the Castaway Cay Family Beach, the Cabanas on Serenity Bay do not include your own piece of the beach up to the ocean. To compensate for that these cabanas tend to be about $100 cheaper than the ones on the family beach. Each cabana can house up to 10 people with the initial pricing starting for 4 people and increasing $50 for each additional person up until 10. Cabanas include a cabana host (on the family beach these tend to be the concierge staff, but on Serenity Bay, it’s usually one of pool deck staff), a small fridge stocked with water, soda, fresh fruit, and cold towels. There is a basket with granola bars and chips. There is a safe and towels and complimentary suntan lotion. There are floats and tubes to take into the ocean but no snorkeling equipment. Cabanas on Serenity Bay are numbered 23 through 27 and are all similar in style but some have a few different features. For example, Cabana 23 is larger than the others, but Cabana 25 has it’s own little pathway next to it to get up to the Cabana. Each cabana has a ceiling fan, couches inside, a little corner with a curtain to change, hooks on the wall, chaise lounge on the outdoor deck and a hammock. There is a button on the way to ring your cabana host for whenever you need something. They also come with complimentary bicycle rentals. One of the perks of being a concierge cabana renter is that you can get a ride from the ship in a golf cart to your cabana at the other end of the island. Otherwise, you would need to take the tram to the first stop, get off and get on the tram for Serenity Bay. My family and I highly recommend getting a cabana. It is very relaxing, and it gives you a quiet place to hang out away from the sun. So, for your next cruise with Disney try out the cabana on Serenity Bay. I promise, you will not be disappointed. Most importantly though, don’t forget to tip your cabana host! |
