By Tink's Vacation Planner, Missy. In the beginning of April I was lucky enough to go on a Disney trip with 2 of my sisters. We all live in different states and they had not been to Disney in over 10 years. I was super excited to plan this trip for us! It was kind of last minute and we only had two days to hit the Disney parks. We decided to go with the 2-day Park Hopper tickets. I made Park Reservations us beforehand -- we decided on Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. On our Magic Kingdom day we had planned to head to Epcot for the evening. We headed back to our resort around 3pm. We went to the pool and then got ready to go. Right before we were going to leave I called the Park Hopper Hotline. It was simple. They told me Epcot was not at capacity. We headed to Epcot and had an amazing time! Due to pandemic capacity restrictions, park hopping is allowed to start for guests after 2pm, and the theme park you hope to hop over to can't be at capacity. Once you've hopped to your second park, you can hop again to another park if you so desire, so long as that park hasn't reached capacity yet either. By Tink's Vacation Planner, Kathy F. Disneyland Park and Disney’s California Adventure Park are set to reopen on April 30, 2021 after being closed for over a year! Things will be a little different once they reopen such as enhanced health and safety measures like requiring face coverings for all guests ages two and over and temperature screenings to enter some locations. Disneyland will be limiting reservations to California residents only and no groups larger than three households until further notice. Capacity to the theme parks will be significantly limited to comply with governmental requirements and promote physical distancing so attendance will be managed by a reservation system. To enter one of the parks, each guest age three and over will be required to have a theme park reservation and a valid ticket for the same park on the same date. A reservation availability calendar is available to view online before guests purchase tickets HERE. There is a separate calendar for 1 day park tickets and park hopper tickets. Theme park reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance. It is recommended that guests check the availability calendar prior to purchasing tickets to make sure their desired dates are available. After purchasing tickets a reservation must be made HERE. Guests with park hopper tickets must reserve the first theme park they will visit each day and must enter that first park before visiting the other park. They can visit the other theme park after 1 PM however the ability to visit the other park is subject to that park’s capacity limitations. Once a theme park reservation has successfully been made, an email with a QR code will be sent to the guest which will be scanned when entering the park. Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa will be scheduled to reopen on April 29, 2021 and will be the only Disneyland hotel available for guests in the first phase of reopening. The Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel will open at a later date. Booking a stay at a Disney hotel will not guarantee entrance to the theme parks and a reservation will still need to be made. Downloading the official Disneyland app is highly recommended. Guests will be able to use many features such as: mobile order service for dining, food and merchandise guide, making dining reservations, checking in for dining reservations, joining a mobile walk up dining list, details about operating hours, schedules, maps and checking in at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. Upon reopening many dining experiences may be modified or unavailable. Dining reservations for table service restaurants can be made starting on April 22, 2022. A mobile dining walk up list will be available on the Disneyland app for those guests who were not able to get a dining reservation ahead of time. Mobile order service will also be available on the Disneyland app to order food at quick service restaurants. Character dining and dining packages will not be offered upon reopening. Some popular experiences will not be available upon reopening such as Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, parades, fireworks and character meet and greets. The following experiences will be available: Savi’s workshop hand-built lightsabers (reservations will be needed and availability will open on April 22, 2022), Droid Depot (no reservation needed) and VIP tours (reservations will be needed). Most of the rides are expected to be reopened on April 30, 2022 however FastPass and MaxPass service will not be available. What do Mouse Ears and anchors have in common? Answer: Disney Cruise Line! For those of us who are wistful for a way to recapture that Disney Cruise Line feeling until its ships start sailing again, well Tink's has GREAT NEWS! A popup shop full of a lot of Disney Cruise Line merchandise, including Mouse Ears with anchors, is available for a limited time at the Marketplace in Disney Springs! Now through early September, the Marketplace Co-Op has an exclusive area where you can purchase a wide assortment of Disney Cruise Line items that you normally would have purchased while onboard one of the four ships in the Disney fleet. There is also a selection of items from Disney Cruise Line's private island in The Bahamas, called Castaway Cay. Once you are done shopping (or before you go works too!), stop by Dockside Margaritas where adults can enjoy a Pina Colada or a Strawberry Daiquiri in a plastic Disney Cruise Line embarkation glass. As you sip your drink, think about a future sail away party onboard one of the Disney ships and be comforted that we will be walking the decks again when Disney Cruise Line gives us all the "all clear." Who else is missing hearing the Disney Cruise Line ship horn? Those of us at Tink's certainly are missing hearing that horn, the sail away party music, and all the other fun to be had while onboard and during port adventures! Check out the gallery below for some of the awesome Disney Cruise Line items that the whole family can enjoy at Disney Springs! While the merchandise doesn't completely fill the hole in our hearts for Disney Cruise Line sailings, it certainly helps while we wait for them to begin again! Disney Cruise Line currently is booking through the end of Summer 2022 -- and we hope the Disney Wish will come online soon for booking. Contact Tink's Magical Vacations to book your next Disney Cruise Line vacation. We love to help our cruise clients find the right sailing and stateroom to fit their family's needs. Anchors Away! |
