As a child in the 90’s I made it my job to sit inches away from our home television screen and run through my collection of Disney VHS tapes. Through these tapes I learned many lessons of fear, adventure and love. As I’ve grown older, even though the media presentation has changed over the years from VHS tapes to DVDs, Blu-rays and now digital, my love and appreciation for these stories hasn’t changed one bit.
Growing up I was fortunate enough that my parents would occasionally treat me (as well as my younger brother and sister), to a trip to Walt Disney World. To be able to see the stories from these films I knew and loved become tangible in some way was an experience that has consumed me ever since. I experienced fear through The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ (still my favorite ride), adventure from the runaway train and tracks of Big Thunder Mountain and love through the iconic stories told on The Great Big Movie Ride.
My love for Disney took an exciting turn when I became a kid (technically an adult on paper) with a credit card. Whether I was with my friends, family or solo, I pushed my Disney experience and knowledge through various offerings throughout the years. I watched giraffes walk around moonlit trees at night from my room at the Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. I took part in holiday celebrations like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. I even learned how something as simple as making a dining reservation could evolve into an experience you’ll always talk about for years down the line.
As I’ve grown older my professional interests, thanks to Disney, have lead me through a path of creativity and storytelling. I make documentary films from time to time and one of my biggest and most personal accomplishments was when I made a film about the reopening of Walt Disney World Resort back in 2020 for The New Yorker. To be able to combine my shared interests into a film felt like a full circle moment for me; one I’ll never fail to appreciate no matter how old I get.
Disney has been there for me ever since I was a child sitting around a pile of VHS tapes and I’ll be sure to be there for Disney for years to come too. That child is now pushing 40 and I know one day I’ll be 80-years-old making my way down Main Street, U.S.A. eating cotton candy and enjoying my time with the people I love and care about at one of the most memorable places in the world.
If there’s anything I can do for you and your family when it comes to booking any Disney destination or vacation, no matter how big or small, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I will offer you my best and nothing short of it. I must warn you though, I may be watching Toy Story for the millionth time when you do call or email me, but I’ll be sure to hit the pause button for you…to infinity and beyond!
