My first trip to the Walt Disney World® Resort was when I was 12 years old, staying at The Golf Resort, which is now Shades of Green, a resort dedicated to military members and their families. At that time there was only one park, Magic Kingdom. Epcot was still being imagineered, but the iconic Spaceship Earth was already visible as we passed by on the monorail checking out the construction.
From that first trip I fell in love with all things Disney - always looking forward to the next vacation, even just days after the last one has finished! When I learned The Disney Store was opening in our local mall, I just had to work there. I am so grateful for my days as a Cast Member at the store being part of the magic making for Disney’s guests. The cast members at our store became my second family and I am still in touch and share the bond of Disney with them 30 years later.
While a cast member, I began vacationing at the Walt Disney World® Resort more often, so many times I have lost count! When I started dating my husband Dirk, he had never been to Florida. I could not wait to show him why I loved escaping to the Walt Disney World® Resort. He too, fell in love and our obsession with Disney grew. Our family of two became four all at once with the birth of our twins, resulting in the longest drought of Disney visits in our married life. We took our first family trip down to Mouse Land just before the twins turned three years old. Seeing Disney through their eyes was like seeing it for the first time.
Since then, we have had the pleasure of staying at almost all of the on-property resorts and have enjoyed festivals such as the Epcot Festival of the Arts, the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival and the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. We have attended holidays at the parks and special events at Magic Kingdom such as Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
We ventured across country to visit the Disneyland® Resort four times and love experiencing the numerous differences between Florida and California’s parks. There is so much to do and see as Disney keeps expanding Disneyland Park and California Adventure Park.
We have visited Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa to soak up the legendary and truly stunning sunsets and lush palm trees. Aulani is an amazing resort with authentic Hawaiian cultural details, extraordinary beach and pool areas and, of course, some Disney magic.
Disney Cruise Line sailings are some of our family’s most treasured vacation memories. The quality of service, shows, entertainment, food and astounding staff on board make you feel like royalty. We have sailed on the Dream, Fantasy, Magic and the Wish enjoying various itineraries. There are so many activities for all ages available on board and you can choose to do as much, or as little, as you want! Disney offers adult only areas on their ships so don't think this is just a family cruise line!
What I love most about Disney vacation destinations is that the experience can easily be adapted to any scenario - singles, couples, honeymooners, families with young and old, and even hosting a family reunion! With all my experiences enjoying Disney, I would love to help you plan a vacation to suit your vacation style. Very informative and quick to respond. We had several changes to our travel plans, and Kathy was able to book an extra night, then get us refunded that night when our flight cancelled. She also got reservations at several hard to get sit down meals. Kathy also dealt with me going back and forth as the middle man on a dozen different vacation packages while I tried to convince my husband we needed to go to Disney- and never got annoyed when I asked her to draw up a new package...again. We recently returned from a Disney Cruise and Disney World visit planned with Kathy. She'd been working on this since before COVID started! She made sure everything was set and planned, and did it again after every change and curveball COVID caused. She gave us so much information and tips and advisement. Awesome and timely communication, often answering questions I had before I could ask. She spent I think two days securing us tickets to Boo Bash. Monitored reservation openings for character meals for us. This was the best vacation I have had - I know what all the fuss is about now for Disney Cruise fans. Kathy is wonderful. She helped us get the Story Book at Artist Pointe - best character dinner there.
It was absolutely wonderful. We will be doing it again. A tear slid down my cheek as we disembarked. It was a wild ride through COVID, cancellations, and adjustments and our planner Kathy was so knowledgeable and authentically devoted to us having a great time.
