Katie, Travel Professional
I was born in upstate New York, but at the age of four my family moved to a small town nestled between the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains and Appalachian Mountains. I am a Physician Assistant who works with our
nation's veterans as well as a wife and a mom. I am happily married to an amazing man, whom I met while working on the Volunteer Rescue Squad in college. Given his love of family and heart for helping others, I knew he was my Prince Charming. My Prince Charming still wears boots as a volunteer firefighter – keeping our small community safe and training those coming in below him. We have three beautiful princesses. Our oldest struggles with anxiety, ADHD, processing disorders, and multiple learning disabilities so coming up with solutions to avoid meltdowns and reduce stress on vacation has been one of our family's specialties. Our family definitely looks like a scene from Merida, as my husband and I do competitive archery, and my children are growing up around horses, the outdoors, and camping. My princesses also take after their Momma with Disney as our favorite place. For me, the magic of Disney is still so awe inspiring. I still tear up watching my daughters dance in the street with characters or stare at the Castle with awe.
As a child, my family did not take big vacations, so my first big trip to the Walt Disney World® Resort was as a young adult. I immediately fell in love with the magic of the Disney parks and came home starting to plan the next trip. Now, I have been to the Walt Disney World® Resort too many times to count and I have also traveled on Disney Cruise Line®. At theWalt Disney World® Resort, I have stayed on and off property and I can tell you there is nothing like staying at a Disney resort – the free transportation and extra magic hours as well as just morning to night Disney magic cannot be beat. My favorite resort is Disney's Port Orleans, Riverside®. My family enjoys the magic of the royal guest rooms as well as the breathtaking setting, horse drawn carriage, and other awesome amenities. It is close enough to the magic yet you feel like you are in a world of your own. In terms of the theme parks at the Walt Disney World® Resort, I love all the parks, but especially enjoy Animal Kingdom Park®, where you can find Tusker House, which is one of my favorite Character meals.
I never thought that my love for Disney could be combined with bringing that same joy to others. What started as simple advice to friends has now allowed me to help plan magical vacations for many others. Disney has so many options that it can fit any wants or needs. The Walt Disney World® Resort is my home away from home, and I would be happy to help you explore a vacation of your dreams. I was privileged enough to take my mother-in-law on her first trip to theWalt Disney World® Resort, checking off one item on her bucket list. Watching her experience everything the Walt Disney World® Resort had to offer was a great blessing to be a part of. I truly believe that you are never too old for Disney, as Disney brings out the Magic in all of us. In a busy and ever-changing world, escaping to a place of magic and enchantment is a breath of fresh air.
Even if you are not a "park person", remember that Disney does not end with its theme parks around the world. Disney Cruise Line® is a cruise line like no other, with all the magic of Disney available on a ship. Our first Disney cruise was on the Disney Dream, and it was just that a vacation out of a dream. From Kids clubs and the nursery, pools, the aqueduct, to Broadway style shows, family game nights, and delicious food with top notch service there is something for everyone. One very special place to enjoy is Disney's private island of Castaway Cay, which offers relaxation and fun.
If you are not feeling the love of adventure at sea – its okay – Disney has so many other options to consider. Have you ever dreamed of going to Paris to see the Eiffel tower? Or what about spending some time on a working dude ranch or explore the depths of the Amazon? My personal bucket list is to one day travel to Antarctica and Galapagos Islands – and Disney offers all these options through Adventures by Disney®. Disney truly has options for everyone.
I am excited at the opportunity to help you plan a magical vacation whether at the parks, on the sea, or in the "great unknown." I want to help make your vacation dreams come true. Though vacations never feel long enough, the memories made are forever. Walt Disney said, "If you have a dream, you can do it". Let me help you make your vacation dreams a reality.
